"There is no beyond except

In the mind, which is
It turns out the body after all

Where we live, whole-

Hearted. Where surface will not hold
We must shatter." - Katharine Coles, from “Here Be Monsters” (via proustitute)

Martin Freeman (on Benedict): He’s sweet and generous in an almost childlike way. He’s very easy to screw over. I could take advantage of him playing cards. Actually, I must take advantage of him playing cards. But as an actor, he’s one of the very few people I’ve worked with whose taste I don’t question. Even subconsciously I’m not going, ‘Well, I wouldn’t have done it like that.’ He commits.

Benedict Cumberbatch(on Martin): He’s always doing kung fu on me. We’ll be standing around, and I won’t be paying any attention to him, and then he suddenly goes, ‘HYYYMMNNNN’ and his hand is right next to my windpipe.

Never too old to learn from the Muppets.

And this:

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye.” - Miss Piggy

All the cities are like you anyway." - Brenda Shaughnessy,  from “Drift” (via proustitute)

"I am tired of knowing nothing and being reminded of it all the time." - F. Scott Fitzgerald, Tender Is the Night   (via wizlaqueefa)

"Girls can wear jeans and cut their hair short and wear shirts and boots because it’s okay to be a boy; for girls it’s like promotion. But for a boy to look like a girl is degrading, according to you, because secretly you believe that being a girl is degrading." - Ian McEwan, The Cement Garden (via lesreliquesdelamort)

"The vocation of anger is not mine.
I know my source." - Anne Carson, from “The Glass Essay” (via proustitute)

"Hey, wait.
Well, love after all is a habit like any other.
A habit, maybe. Like any other, no." - Renata Adler, Pitch Dark (via proustitute)

"I said many ignorant people nowadays thought ‘Frankenstein’ was the name of the monster, and not of the scientist who created him.
[Mary Shelley] said, ‘That’s not so ignorant after all. There are two monsters in my story, not one. And one of them, the scientist, is indeed named Frankenstein." - Kurt Vonnegut, “God Bless You, Dr. Kevorkian” (via alighthouseofwords)

"It is so good to drink, to know, to find an arbitrary place amongst billions of befores and afters. I love the ring-ring
you play when I am done speaking. My coiffure has faded into the night." - Infinite Splinters: The Incomprehensible Night  (via uutpoetry)
